Crash Bandicoot - How to Find the Keys and Unlock Secret Levels in the N.Sane Trilogy PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC

In order to unlock the secret levels in Crash Bandicoot 1 on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC you’ll need to collect Neo Cortex face pick-ups to open up bonus stages, which must then be completed to gain the keys. There are two secret levels in the original Crash Bandicoot (remade on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC). Follow our Crash Bandicoot Secret Level Unlock Guide below for all the info you need.

Crash Bandicoot Secret Level 1 - How to Find the key and Unlock Whole Hog Secret Level

The key needed to unlock the Whole Hog secret level in Crash Bandicoot on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC is awarded for collecting three Neo Cortex pick-ups on Island 2’s Sunset Vista level, then completing the bonus level. Consult the list below for details on where the Cortex pick-ups are.

  • Sunset Vista level Neo Cortex Pick-up #1 - Found on the third-floor. Reach the top of the ruin and defeat the lizard. Enter the ruin and smash all crates to reveal Cortex pick-up.
  • Sunset Vista level Neo Cortex Pick-up #2 - Following pick-up #1, carry on until you reach moving walls. From the safe place between them, jump up the crates onto the top of the second moving wall and find the Cortex pick-up.
  • Sunset Vista level Neo Cortex Pick-up #3 - The final Cortex pick-up is found near the Cortex teleporter. To the left of this jump into the passageway with the extra life, then carry on left to enter another room. The Cortex pick-up is in here.

The bonus level can be accessed just to the right of the second Cortex pick-up. The Key to unlock Whole Hog is at the end, and the level is then accessed from the Island hub screen.

Crash Bandicoot Secret Level 2 - How to Find the Key and Unlock Fumbling in the Dark Secret Level

The key needed to unlock the fumbling in the Dark secret level in Crash Bandicoot on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC is awarded for collecting three Neo Cortex pick-ups on Island 3’s Jaws of Darkness level, then completing the bonus level. Consult the list below for details on where the Cortex pick-ups are.

  • Jaws of Darkness Neo Cortex Pick-up #1 - Look for some spike traps and fire. You’ll need to jump through this after riding a pair of moving platforms. Once you’ve jumped through, smash the bottom crate of the stack with the TNT at the top and the first Cortex pick-up will be yours.
  • Jaws of Darkness Neo Cortex Pick-up #2 - Head on until you reach some spears and a snake. Jump on the snake then carry on to the crates. The second Cortex pick-up is in the ? crate.
  • Jaws of Darkness Neo Cortex Pick-up #3 - Head left from the second pick-up (there is a secret platform here that you can’t see) and you’ll reach a group of crates and the last Cortex pick-up.

The bonus level is found after the final checkpoint. Once you’ve got the key at the end of the bonus level you can find the Fumbling in the Dark level on the Island hub screen.
