The Witcher 3 Skellige Gwent Cards - Where to Find the Best Gwent Cards for the Skellige Faction

Here's where you can find the best Skellige Gwent faction cards in The Witcher 3.

This guide will briefly explain where to find some of the best Skellige Gwent cards in the Witcher 3. The new Skellige Gwent faction is available as a part of the Blood and Wine expansion. Cards for this faction are only found in Toussaint.

Witcher 3 Best Skellige Gwent Cards

Players can begin building their Skellige Gwent deck by heading to the Pheasantry Inn in Beauclair. Speak to Count Monnier to start the quest titled “To Everything - Turn, Turn, Tournament!” Sign up for the tournament, but don’t participate in it just yet. After your conversation, Count Monnier will give you a set of Skellige Gwent cards for you to start with.

Upon receiving your starter Skellige deck, a new quest called “Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige’s Here” will become available. Track this quest to mark your map with Gwent challengers, who are usually merchants throughout Toussaint. Defeating these challengers in a round of Gwent will reward you with certain Skellige cards.

King Bran Gwent Card

  • Location: Earned by defeating the Ducal Camerlengo in a round of Gwent. Find this NPC in the Knight’s Dormant Square in Beauclair.

King Bran is one of the two Leader cards available for the Skellige faction. The other is Crach an Craite, who you receive for starting your Skellige deck. King Bran’s leader ability allows all units affected by poor weather to only lose half of their strength, rather than be reduced to 1 as per usual. This ability can be particularly helpful if you plan to use the Skellige Storm card in your deck.

Cerys an Craite Gwent Card

  • Location: Earned by defeating the innkeep of the Barrel and Bung Inn in Flovive, the village across the river east of Beauclair.

Cerys is by far one of the most valuable cards to have in the Skellige Gwent deck. She is a strength 10 Hero who can summon any available Shield Maidens straight onto the battlefield, and she is not affected by Weather or Scorch abilities. Multiple Shield Maidens will also bond with one another to double their strength, so be sure to add a few to your deck to make the most of Cerys’ ability.

Ermion Gwent Card

  • Location: Won by defeating the innkeep at the Scarlett Cardinal Inn in Francollarts, southeast of Beauclair.

Ermion wields the special Mardroeme ability, which will transform any Berserker cards into powerful Bears when he is placed on the same row. Ermion is a strength 8 Hero card that cannot be affected by Weather or Scorch, making this card much more valuable than any basic Mardroeme card.

Draig Bon-Dhu Gwent Card

  • Location: Return to the Pheasantry Inn in Beauclair where you spoke to the Count about the Gwent tournament. Defeat the innkeep in a round of Gwent to earn this card.

Draig Bon-Dhu isn’t particularly strong, but this card does come with a built in Commander’s Horn ability that doubles the strength of all unit cards in the same row. Draig Bon-Dhu works the same as the Dandelion card, but is applied to the Siege row instead.

Kambi Gwent Card

  • Location: Earned after defeating the Armorer just north of the Nilfgaardian Embassy in Beauclair.

Kambi has the special Summon Avenger capability. When this card is removed and sent to the graveyard, a powerful unit card will be summoned onto the battlefield as its replacement. It’s best to use this card in the first round in order to guarantee a strong unit card for the next round.

Olaf the Bear Gwent Card

  • Location: Won from defeating the innkeep at the Adder and Jewels Winery in Beauclair, near the Gran'place sign post.

Olaf is a powerful 12 strength unit card that also has the special Morale Boost ability. This ability increases the strength of all unit cards in the same row. Olaf can also be placed on either the Close Combat or Ranged Combat rows, allowing for adaptability.
