FIFA 18 FUT Squad Building Challenges - FIFA 18 Ultimate Team Puzzle Mode
Squad Building Challenges in FIFA 18 are puzzles of sorts, where you must assemble a team of players from FIFA 18 Ultimate Team that meets a set of criteria. The key here is that when you submit a team of Ultimate Team players, they are exchanged permanently for whatever the reward is. This means that you are essentially swapping 11 Ultimate Team players for a prize.
How Do FUT Squad Building Challenges Work in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team
In the Squad Building Challenges section of FIFA 18 Ultimate Team you’ll see a series of challenges. Some are time limited, so if you like the look of the rewards on offer for these, jump on them sooner rather than later.
Each Squad Building Challenge is usually split into sub challenges. Each sub challenge has its own reward, but complete all the sub challenges and you’ll unlock the main prize. Prizes come in the form of Card Packs of FIFA Coins. You can see all the prizes before you submit a team in exchange.
Upgrade FUT Squad Building Challenges
Three upgrade Squad Building Challenges, which are time limited but may well return at a later date, can be used repeatedly by players if you have enough player cards.
- Bronze Upgrade - Exchange 11 unwanted Bronze players for a pack with two Silver players (Untradeable)
- Silver Upgrade - Exchange 11 unwanted Silver players for a pack with three common Gold players (Untradeable)
- Gold Upgrade - Exchange 11 unwanted Gold players for a pack with two Rare Gold players (Untradeable)
Player Specific Squad Building Challenges
Some of the best Squad Building Challenges offer star players as the main prize. The hardest challenges give full (but untradeable) player cards, while slightly easier challenges give loan cards as the reward.
These player specific Squad Building Challenges in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team run for a limited time but are replaced by new ones regularly.
FIFA 18 Squad Building Challenges Marquee Matchups
Each week a set of Squad Building Challenges will be added to do with the biggest matches taking place. This can include league and international games. It pays to look ahead and try to snap up players from upcoming big fixtures/rivalries ahead of them being added as prices tend to increase after the fact.
FUT Squad Building Challenges on the FIFA 18 Ultimate Team Web App and Mobile Companion App
If you’re away from your PC or console and want to carry on taking part in Squad Building Challenges, you can via the web app or the mobile companion app. Both these tools let you manage squads, buy/sell players, and build teams for the Squad Building Challenges. It’s like you have a portable/office friendly FIFA puzzle game to play.
