Destiny 2 Weapon Core Locations - How to Find Black Armory Crate Locations

Weapon cores can be pretty hard to track down in Destiny 2, but this guide will help you do just that.

The Destiny 2 Black Armory update is live right now for all players that own the Annual Pass for the game, but the opening quest line for the new content can be pretty challenging. In this Destiny 2 weapon cores guide, we'll be walking you through how to track down not only the weapon core items, but also the Destiny 2 Black Armory crate locations as easily as possible, both of which are required for the first mission.

If you instead need help with anything else relating to the new content for Bungie's FPS, you'll want to head over to our Destiny 2 Black Armory guide. Here you can find all the beginner's tips and tricks you need to get going with the new content, including how to complete all the quest steps for Ada-1 prior to this.

Destiny 2 Weapon Core Locations

For this first step in the Black Armory quest line, you need to head to either the Gulch or the Outskirts area of the European Dead Zone on Earth. Now, you need to look for the 'Forge Saboteur' enemy, who you can recognise by the floating orbs around them.

You need to kill this Forge Saboteur enemy, which is a lot easier said than done, considering how tough this relatively new enemy type is. Don't worry though, there'll be tons of players looking to take down Forge Sabotuers since the Black Armory event has only just kicked off, so you'll have strength in numbers.

With the enemy slain, you'll receive the "Forge Saboteur has been defeated" message in the bottom left corner of your HUD. You now need to locate a chest nearby, just like the one pictured below, and scan it, which will let you claim the Weapon Core item, and bring you one step closer to completing this section of the quest from Ada-1.

Destiny 2 Compound Ether

As for the Compound Ether items, you'll have a much easier time finding these items. To obtain 25 Compound Ether, all you need to do is kill Fallen enemies, which have a pretty high chance of dropping one of the items you need.

Your best bet is to go after Public Events in the Outskirts or near Devrim Kay's church, since Fallen enemies always swarm Public Events in these regions. With 25 Compound Ether collected, you're successfully onto the next stage of this quest line.

But now that we're all done here, why not check out some of our other Destiny 2 Black Armory guides? There's our Destiny 2 Black Armory weapons guide, or our Destiny 2 Scourge of the Past Raid guide for more.
