Summer is coming to an end, but the cavalcade of digital events and reveals is still carrying on. Today, 3D Realms announced Realms Deep, a two-day digital event featuring world premieres and a number of special guests.
Starting on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. PT, the event will play host to a number of guests, including John Romero, Cliff Blezsinski, American McGee, and more. Studios like New Blood and Nightdive Studios are expected to make appearances as well. Basically, it's a lineup of PC FPS developers new and old, hopefully sharing a bunch of new ways to frag out at 120 frames a second.
As for games, Realms Deep already has a lineup of them set. Games like SCP Blackout, Postal 4, the Dread X Collection, and others are scheduled alongside influencers and other special appearances. The event will air from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT on Sept. 5 and 6.
It's an interesting lineup that's centered on old-school PC gaming vibes. While that's not quite a PlayStation or Xbox showcase, it's exciting news for those who have been enjoying a surge of nostalgia for PC FPS from the recent QuakeCon digital event.
Tim Willits will also be making an appearance, so it's possible we could learn what he's up to following his departure from id Software last year. With Nightdive in attendance as well, don't rule out any big surprises. More about the event, including an up-to-date schedule and merch, can be found on the Realms Deep landing page.
