8Bitdo's SNES-Inspired Bluetooth Controller Designed for Switch Is up For Pre-Order

Retro Vision.

8Bitdo's latest wireless creation - the Super Nintendo inspired SF30 Pro is packed full of features, fully compatible with Nintendo Switch, and finally available to pre-order.

For the uninitiated, 8Bitdo is a company that has made a name for itself in recent years by producing a series of wireless Bluetooth controllers for use on PC, Mac, iOS and Android, inspired by classic Nintendo controllers. Pads from the NES, SNES and Nintendo 64 era have all been replicated by the company to great success.

What's key with 8Bitdo's products, though, is that they don't feel like cheap knock-offs or copyright-skirting also-rans. These controllers feel freakishly like the original controllers they are modelled after, which makes them all the more appealing.

The latest in the series, the SF30 Pro, is designed specifically with Nintendo Switch consoles in mind, adding certain key features to enable it to be the perfect third-party controller for the system. Those features include rumble, motion controls, USB-C connectivity, 'screenshot' and 'home' buttons and a full set of shoulder buttons alongside two thumbsticks.

In short, this upcoming controller could be really special, especially for Switch owners looking for an alternative to use when playing those classic NeoGeo (and maybe some day Virtual Console) games.

The SF30 Pro is set for release in the US on December 10th, 2017 and you can pre-order one at Amazon right now for $49.99, in either US or EU color schemes.
