A Datamine of Overwatch's PTR Has Evidence of Potential "Junkertown" Map

Take me to Junkertown.

A new PTR is in full swing over on Overwatch for PC. The PTR currently in rotation is boasting a new map for the game's upcoming Deathmatch mode, a mode with no payloads, no capture points. A mode where only killing opponents is the main objective. It's the latest in new modes to come to Overwatch, including Capture the Flag that debuted earlier this year. With datamining, another new thing seems to be on the horizon.

In a recent PTR datamine, a Tumblr user uncovered the line "Welcome to Junkertown." The voice line gives way to the potential of a new Overwatch map, possibly themed after the one and only Junkrat. Being a datamine and not a confirmed report, take this tidbit of information with a grain of salt, especially since Doomfist was implemented into the hero rotation so recently.

Nonetheless, Gamescom is just around the corner, which is where Eichenwalde was revealed last year. The Deathmatch mode will eventually be headed out of the PTR along with its specific map, Château Guillard. If Junkertown is real, it could be anything really, like a new Deathmatch map, for example. Fans on Reddit are hoping that it turns out to be a new full payload escort map, since out of all the maps Overwatch has implemented aside from Eichenwalde, payloads have been left in the dust.
