A New PS5 Games Showcase Is Airing This Week
No word yet on a price announcement, though.
There's a brand-new PlayStation 5 showcase on the way. And we won't have to wait until we'll see more of some PS5 games, because Sony's next games showcase is airing in just a few days time on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Sony announced the upcoming PS5 games showcase on the PlayStation Blog over the weekend. The showcase itself will be kicking off at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET.
"Before PlayStation 5 launches this holiday, we wanted to give you one more look at some of the games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!)," Sony's director of communications Sid Shuman writes. "Our next digital showcase will weigh in at around 40 minutes, and feature updates on the latest titles from Worldwide Studios and our world-class development partners."
The wording of the announcement on the PlayStation Blog seems to indicate that this showcase might be focused entirely on PlayStation 5 games, neglecting an announcement for a PS5 release date or price. While that's entirely possible, we're now almost a week removed from Microsoft revealing the Xbox Series X and S prices and release date, and you've got to imagine Sony would rather respond sooner than later with their own console announcement.
At 40 minutes, we should be in for a treat with a slate of PlayStation 5 games. Here's hoping we'll see more of Bluepoint's Demons' Souls remake, and there's always the possibility of games like Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales showing up in some form at the showcase.
