Persona 5 Royal might be releasing in Japan at the end of October, but we'll have to wait in the west until Spring 2020 to play it. But today, Atlus has teased a look at one of the big new additions for the re-release: a new Palace.
Below, you can see a few screenshots of the brand new Palace in Persona 5 Royal. Right now, we don't know at what point in the re-release our heroes will be entering the Palace, or what the location is based around (other Persona 5 Palace's have resembled a bank or a casino, for example).
A 'Palace,' in case you're unfamiliar with Persona 5, is the physical manifestation of someone's mind (yeah, I guess you could call it a mind palace). Our Phantom Thieves, including Joker, Ryuji, Morgana, etc., then enter these Palaces in an alternate dimension to steal the "treasure within," and cleanse the targeted individual of any evil.
So far, Persona 5 Royal is going to introduce a new Phantom Thief with Kasumi Yoshizawa, a school counselor for Shujin Academy, a third term for the school year, a new location to visit around Tokyo, and this new Palace. It seems pretty logical to assume that the new Palace could take place within the extended third semester of the school year, but we'll have to wait and see to find out for sure.
Persona 5 Royal launches in the west in Spring 2020, exclusively for the PS4. For everything we know about the re-release so far, head over to our Persona 5 Royal guide.
