Afterparty's Hellbound Bar Crawl Hits Nintendo Switch Next Week

Night School Studio's Oxenfree follow-up has a release date for Switch, and it's very soon.

Released in the busiest season of 2019, Night School Studio's long-awaited follow-up to Oxenfree was bound to get buried. Luckily, next week, the studio's latest game Afterparty is getting another lease on life. On March 6, the adventure-bar crawl through hell is headed to Nintendo Switch.

Starring the voices of Janina Gavankar (Star Wars: Battlefront 2, The Morning Show) and Khoi Dao (March Comes In Like a Lion, the game Detective Pikachu), Afterparty follows best friends Lola and Milo as they embark on the most important bar crawl of their lives: to outdrink Satan so they don't burn in hell forever. In Staff Writer Hirun Cryer's review of Afterparty, he wrote, "Night School Studios have made hell intriguing and complex, with punchy dialog and relatable characters, be it human or demonic. The humor and writing is where Afterparty shines the most, breathing life into every character it touches—be it short and sarcastic, or emotional and reverent."

In a press release, Night School Studio Co-Founder and Creative Director Sean Krankel says porting Afterparty to Nintendo Switch has been "has been a dream come true" for the studio. "The Nintendo Switch is a perfect fit for Afterparty, as you can play with all touch controls or Joy-Cons," says Krankel. "Being able to play anywhere, whether that's on the subway, or a bar or even at church, is icing on the cake."

Afterparty released on Oct. 29 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store. It's on Xbox Game Pass as well. Starting today, you can pre-purchase Afterparty for $19.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
