All the Announcements and Trailers from the Sony E3 2017 Press Conference: God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Spider-Man, and More

It was spiders all the way down at Sony's press conference tonight.

We're at E3 2017 covering the year's biggest gaming event. Be sure to check out all our coverage on our E3 2017 hub!

Sony's E3 2017 press conference wasn't exactly brimming with big new surprises, but we got some solid info on games unveiled through 2016 and the first half of 2017. It was very much a, "Hey, you want more info on God of War? Well, we got that!" kind of press conference.

From Uncharted to Spider-Man, to VR, VR, and more VR, here's what appeared under Sony's banner at E3 2017.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Nathan Drake is taking a pass on this adventure. Adventurer Chloe Frazer and mercenary Nadine Ross are stepping in. Fortunately, the action looks as intense as ever – and jungle foliage and ruins still abound. There are probably tons of snakes, bugs, traps, and all that good stuff, too. Look for The Lost Legacy on August

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds

Horizon Zero Dawn gets an expansion by way of The Frozen Wilds. The terrain's looking a little colder, but there are still plenty of robot-dinosaur-car-things for you to kill. It's coming later this year.

Days Gone

The latest trailer for Motorcycle Apocalypse: The Game showed off some quick time events, fights with giant mutant wolves (and a big, big mutant bear!), as well as some of the ways in which the game's zombie swarms can be used to clear out enemy camps. Ha ha! Link's been using arrows all this time like a sucker.

Monster Hunter World

A new Monster Hunter game is coming to PlayStation 4. It has lush environments, big swords, and plenty of dragon-dinosaur hybrids. Grab onto it and don't let go, not even when it tries to shake you off and eat you. Coming in 2018.

Shadow of the Colossus

Arguably Sony's biggest (maybe only) surprise. Shadow of the Colossus, possibly a reboot of the first game, is coming to the PlayStation 4. Looks like it's time to scale some monsters again. No objections here: I sucked at the original PS2 game, but I'd love to give it the ol' Wander try once more. Coming in 2018.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

We saw a new trailer for the latest entry in gaming's most epic team-up series. Zero goes rogue, Thanos is released from his prison, Dante lets Rocket play with his guns, and other unfortunate things happen. Look for this one on September 19.

Call of Duty: WWII

We're going back – ahead? – to the Second World War in Call of Duty WW II. We saw a multiplayer trailer, and it contains a lot of shooting, rattling, bombing, and yelling. Business as usual, in other words. It's coming on November 3.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR

Sony pushed the VR pretty hard at its conference, starting with Skyrim VR. Now you can get up close and personal with a dragon. Kiss it. Kiiiiiss iiiiiit.

Star Child

This is interesting: A 2D platformer in VR. The pop-out effects seem to be reserved for big monster and character reveals. Might be a nice option for people who get sick playing VR games, e.g. people like me.

The Inpatient

The Inpatient was introduced via one of those vague "Can't trust what you see" trailers. Creepy stuff; perfect for VR.

Bravo Team

It's a shooter, and it's VR.

[Looks around]

That's all I've got for you.

Final Fantasy XV: Monster of the Deep

Beautiful Prince Noctis and the beautiful members of his boy band entourage want you to come with them on a VR fishing adventure. If you say "No," you're off your rocker. Catch everything from trout to Things That Should Not Be. Mmm. I can smell the pond scum.

AKA "We Couldn't Call It 'Mossflower' Even Though It Stars a Warrior Mouse." This adorable-looking VR adventure certainly gives off a Brian Jaques vibe, and I couldn't be happier about it. I am all about mouse knights fighting snakes.

God of War

We learned quite a bit more about Dad Kratos and the kid he lugs around in God of War. It appears Kratos, being of divine Greek descent, isn't welcome in the frosty lands of the Nordic gods. Good thing Kratos' axe isn't choosy about the origin of the skulls it cleaves. You can make friends with the World Serpent, too. Sold. Coming early 2018.

Detroit: Become Human

We also learned a lot more about the story-driven adventure game Detroit: Become Human. You lead an android revolt, and can choose to free your people peacefully or with copious amounts of window-breaking. Which path will you choose (psst – winners choose broken windows). Coming 2017.

Destiny 2

Is Destiny 2 really E3 material at this point? Doesn't matter: We have a new trailer either way.

Peter Parker and / or Miles Morales do whatever a spider can in Sony's highly-anticipated trailer for Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4. That means swinging through the streets of New York City and spinning webs of any size to catch thieves just like flies. Spider-Man can also punch the crap out of people, which is something actual spiders can't do. If you don't already thank God on a regular basis for that, I advise you to start now. Spider-Man is coming in 2018.
