Nintendo has just revealed some sales data for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and it's bonkers. In just six total weeks on the market, New Horizons has managed to sell a combined 13 million copies.
The sales briefing comes from Nintendo's Japanese website in a press release (thanks, Bloomberg). The 13 million copies sold figure comes from the combined sales of Japan, North America, and Europe, which is still a massive success however you look at it.
Nintendo also provided the sales statistic just below for some excellent context. New Horizons has now passed six week on the market, and in those six weeks, it's beaten the lifetime sales figures for both Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Wild World, both on the DS family of systems.
It's safe to say New Horizons has been an astounding success for Nintendo in only six weeks. Here at USgamer, we've absolutely adored the game so far, with Caty praising it in a wonderful review, and later circling back after a month to reflect on the in-game triumphs of New Horizons so far.
It doesn't take a crystal ball to see further success for New Horizons. Nintendo's style of updating the game, with recent events celebrating Nature Day and further events on the horizon, are bound to draw in newcomers and lapsed players alike. It's been a fantastic game so far, and New Horizons doesn't look like it's letting up.
