Animal Crossing New Horizons for Switch Delayed to March 2020

A blow to many prospective, virtual home buyers.

Animal Crossing on the Switch is still happening, just not this year. Nintendo confirmed in its E3 2019 Direct today that the new Animal Crossing, called Animal Crossing New Horizons, just needs a little more time in development.

This will be a big blow to anyone expecting to play Animal Crossing New Horizons on the Switch this year. Perhaps with Fire Emblem Three Houses, Pokemon Sword and Shield, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and Luigi's Mansion, Nintendo felt that it was okay to let one anticipated title slip into 2020.

Unfortunately, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is probably on the more anticipated side of that scale, and plenty people will be disappointed to hear news regarding today's delay. To soothe over the wound, Nintendo released a new trailer for Animal Crossing Switch.

The trailer for Animal Crossing shows off a new island home for your small Animal Crossing hero. Fish, make friends, and just live the best life you can in your new island home.

While many were hoping Animal Crossing New Horizons would be getting a 2019 release date, that is not meant to be. For more on today's Nintendo Direct, check out our Nintendo Direct E3 2019 guide.
