Animal Crossing New Horizons: Wedding Season Explained

Players will be able to take anniversary photos in the new Wedding Season event.

Love is in the air as Animal Crossing New Horizons is adding a new Wedding Season event, in which players can help married NPCs celebrate their anniversary with photoshoots. Here we'll cover everything you need to know about Wedding Season, and what you can get out of it.

On this page:

What Is the Wedding Season Event in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

Wedding Season is a new event in which players will be able to venture to Harv's island and take commemorative photographs of married NPCs, with some power to frame the backdrop and other elements as they choose. You can see all the available details in the video below.

When Is Wedding Season?

Nintendo have said that the Wedding Season event will take place across the whole of June, from the 1st to the 30th of the month and following on the heels of the International Museum Day event. We presume this will be a yearly recurrence, but cannot confirm as of yet.

What Is Wedding Season?

Details are still sparse, especially considering that this is a new addition to the Animal Crossing series, but Wedding Season appears to be an opportunity to celebrate the marriages of in-game NPCs by setting up commemorative photoshoots, done via Harv's Island. It also seems likely that it'll have most of the same features as Harv's photoshop, and the trailer re-introduces Reese and Cyrus, a pair of married Alpacas who have historically run the Re-Tail shop in older games. We don't know if they'll be the only ones you can photograph or if others will be added, but it's nice to see them back.

How to Play Wedding Season

As mentioned before it seems very likely you'll need to be able to reach Harv's island before you can engage with this content, but players will also need an internet connection to download the relevant updates to their Switch.
