Annapurna Interactive Is Releasing an Eight Game Box Set to Celebrate Its First Five Years

Five years of publishing some stellar indies.

Over the last five years, Annapurna Interactive has built up a considerable catalogue of independently developed games. This holiday, the publisher is launching a giant box set to commemorate the stellar lineup it has accumulated.

Partnering with iam8bit, two physical PlayStation 4 box sets will go live for pre-order today. The Annapurna collection will gather together eight of its games, listed below:

  • Donut County
  • Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition
  • Outer Wilds
  • Sayonara Wild Hearts
  • Wattam
  • What Remains of Edith Finch
  • Telling Lies
  • Gorogoa

The two versions will both have box set designs with their own covers. But iam8bit will have its own exclusive verison of the box set that comes with a foreword from Annapurna Interactive founder Nathan Gary and statements from each of the eight games' developers. The regular collector's edition comes in at $179.99, while iam8bit's will go for $199.99.

It's like an indie game Criterion set. | iam8bit

The lineup alone is a stellar collection that's fairly emblematic of Annapurna's prominence in the indie publishing scene. Over the years, it's picked up long-running classics like Kentucky Route Zero and the follow-up to a hit indie FMV game, and even been fairly prescient in nabbing GOTY contenders you haven't heard of yet.

Annapurna's still going strong in 2020, with the eraser-based narrative If Found already out an the star-studded time-looping mystery 12 Minutes on the way. It's pretty cool to see all these excellent indies in one big commemorative package, a treatment that's usually reserved for blockbuster releases. Here's to five more years, and hopefully another killer lineup of classics to pick from years from now.
