Apex Legends Datamine Points to Solos and Duo Modes
New modes could be on the way to Respawn's popular battle royale game.
Apex Legends, Respawns' battle royale game set in the Titanfall universe, is officially the new hotness. That means dataminers are off to find what hidden nuggets of info they can find in Apex Legends' code, and the first excavation seems to have revealed two new modes.
Fortnite dataminer ShiinaBR uncovered references to a "Solo Mode" and "2-man Squad" mode hidden in the files for Apex Legends. Of course, this being just game files there are no accompanying details or release info.

Apex Legends, being a live-service battle royale game, means Respawn could introduce a number of new content to Apex Legends for post-launch. Solos, duos, and any number of modes could be added to Apex Legends, either permanently or on a limited-time basis. So even if there are no mechs or wall-running in Apex Legends currently, but that's not say neither of those could be introduced as limited-time events.
Apex Legends is only a week old since its surprise launch, and it's already surpassed 10 million players. Apex Legends is currently the top game on Twitch, beating out Fortnite Battle Royale. Apex Legends' first season of post-launch content won't drop until March, and that's when we'll see how Respawn's long-term plans for Apex Legends will look like. Whether it's new modes, maps, or characters.
Respawn is also planning more Titanfall for later this year, though it won't be Titanfall 3. Respawn is also developing a Star Wars game called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. For more on Apex Legends check out our Apex Legends FAQ for guides, tips, and more.
