Just when you think you've seen it all, along comes a person armed with a pen. An Apex Legends player has hooked up their graphics tablet to the game, and is aiming (and winning) using a graphics pen.
A clip of user Star__Rain has shot to the top of the Apex Legends subreddit, which shows them actually winning a game of Apex Legends with a pretty clutch performance using their graphics pen. You can check out some extended gameplay of them playing using the pen just below.
It's actually not just Apex Legends that this player uses their graphics pen for. Over on their YouTube channel, they also play Valorant using the graphics pen, which it's fair to say is a lot more of a reaction-based shooter than Apex Legends is. I struggle to play Apex competitively as is, and that's without using a graphics pen to aim.
In the comments on the Reddit post, someone said that they'd love to see what Star__Rain draws in a graph that tracks their pen movements from a game of Apex Legends. It's not quite the same, but someone else posted a visual tracking graph of their mouse movements from three hours playing Apex Legends, which you can see just below.
Playing first-person shooters with a graphics tablet and pen is nothing extremely new (there have been people playing CS:GO with a graphics tablet and pen, for example), but it's nonetheless outstanding. I'd be interested to know whether these players actually feel like they play FPS's better with a graphics tablet and pen instead of the conventional mouse and keyboard.
