Apex Legends's Rampart Comes With a Huge Turret Gun in Season 6

And the World's Edge is getting a facelift.

When Apex Legends Season 6 launches next week, it'll be introducing a new character, a new weapon, and new areas on the World's Edge map. Now, thanks to the new season 6 gameplay trailer, we can see all these new aspects in action.

First up is newcomer Rampart's turret gun. We heard this weapon called "Shiela" when Rampart was revealed earlier this month, and now we can see that Sheila is a special gatling gun that Rampart can both carry around, and put in one place behind a shield barrier for teammates to use.

Elsewhere, the World's Edge map is getting a 'Fortified' makeover. As in-game teasers pointed to earlier this month, certain areas of the map are getting a facelift, like the Harvester being kitted out with moving steel barriers to block out enemy fire, and what looks like the Drill Site getting a major overhaul with a pit.

There's also the new Volt Energy SMG to contend with. This electrifying new weapon looks like it definitely packs a punch in close quarters, and we can pretty safely assume you'll be using Energy ammo for it.

As usual, there'll be a brand new Battle Pass to unlock and progress through. Season 6: Boosted will have the usual 100-tier Battle Pass, and it looks as though there'll be new skins for Bloodhound, Revenant, and Bangalore, among others.

Season 6: Boosted launches for Apex Legends next week on August 17. The season will kick into gear at approximately 10 a.m. PT, which has become the standard launch time for any new content for Respawn's game.
