Arms Gets June Release Date and a Neon Yellow Joycon

Nintendo will have a one-two-punch of competitive games this summer.

Arms will be out June 16, Nintendo confirmed today, bringing with it a neon yellow JoyCon.

Arms will anchor the Nintendo's summer release schedule along with Splatoon 2, giving the Switch an (ahem) one-two punch of competitive games.

Along with the release date, Nintendo unveiled a host of new info about Arms, including a new fighter named Minmin—a fighter with extendable ramen noodles for arms. She used her long reach to hold off Spring Man, the other character Nintendo highlighted in today's Nintendo Direct stream.

The gameplay seems to combine the action of Punch-Out!! with the strategy of Street Fighter II while doling out a healthy helping of national stereotypes (a fighting game staple). It will feature a wide of strategic add-ons, which can be unlocked with in-game currency.

Today's Arms news was part of a broader stream highlighting a bunch of info for 3DS, Switch, and Splatoon 2. You can check out the archived stream as well as our liveblog here.
