Artifact Beta Launching in October

Valve's card game is coming very soon.

Artifact, Valve's new Dota 2 card game and first major video game release in a good while, is out late November but Valve announced that there will indeed be a beta for Artifact in October.

If you're going to be at PAX West later this month or are currently at the Dota 2 International, lucky you you're getting a free copy of Artifact as well as access to the beta in October. No details yet on how the beta will work for non-attendees just yet.

Artifact is a new card game developed by Valve and Magic: The Gathering designer Richard Garfield. Artifact will ship in November with over 280 cards at launch and will start at $19.99, a departure from free-to-play card games like Hearthstone. Players will be able to buy and sell Artifact cards through the Steam Marketplace.
