Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered Briefly Listed for Switch, Confirmed on Nintendo Direct [Update]

Is the revolution coming to the Switch?

Update: Nintendo confirmed Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered and Assassin's Creed Liberation during today's Nintendo Direct. The collection will come out on Switch on May 21.

Assassin's Creed could be making its way to the Nintendo Switch, though nothing is confirmed. All we have to go by is the fact that for a brief, glorious moment, Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered was listed for the Nintendo Switch on Ubisoft's website.

Original Story: Vooks spotted the listing earlier this week when Ubisoft's own page for Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered included the Switch as one of its consoles. It didn't take long however for Ubisoft to remove the Switch listing. Was it an error? Or did Ubisoft accidentally spoil a surprise?

This isn't the first time Assassin's Creed 3 for the Switch leaked. VG247 caught a Czech retail site listing the Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation Collection, which includes both Assassin's Creed 3 and Liberation, for the Switch back in January. The collection was scheduled for a February 15 release date, just two days after today's Nintendo Direct.

This has naturally stoked rumors that Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered could be announced in today's Direct. If it does end up happening at all, Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered will be the first game in the series to be on the Switch, not counting the Japan-only streaming version of Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered was originally part of the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Season Pass. Ubisoft announced it would later be sold separately as its own game on March 29 for PS4 and Xbox One. Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered includes updated graphics, 4K resolution support, and improved assets for environment and scenery.
