Assassin's Creed Odyssey Release Date, Protagonists Leaked Before E3 Conference

By Zeus' beard!

The embargo for Assassin's Creed Odyssey was just broken and a bunch of new details were just leaked including the game's protagonist, gameplay, and release date.

Ubisoft confirmed Assassin's Creed Odyssey after a leak from retailers showed off physical merchandise for the next Assassin Creed game set in ancient Greece. Now, a video documentary interview with Odyssey's developers surfaced on Unilad Gaming's Facebook and YouTube page. The video was taken down, but not before leakers grabbed a mirror of the video on Streamable.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey leak

Assassin's Creed Odyssey will have a single protagonist, but players can choose between a pre-made male or female hero named Alexios and Kassandra respectively. The story will not change depending on the gender of the protagonist. Gameplay elements seen from the video includes sea combat and a map of Greece which is perhaps bigger than the map of Egypt in Assassin's Creed Origins.

The release date was also revealed, and Assassin's Creed Origins looks set for an October 5, 2018 release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The contents of these leaks will presumably be confirmed at today's Ubisoft E3 press conference which we will be covering live today. For more on E3 2018, check out our full E3 2018 guide for the latest news and updates. Also check out our Assassin's Creed Odyssey guide for the latest news.
