Assassin's Creed Valhalla Won't Be as Vast as Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Won't Be as Vast as Odyssey

My backlog is breathing a sigh of relief.

If you think Ubisoft is going to make Assassin's Creed even bigger after the massive Odyssey, you'd be mistaken. A developer on Ubisoft Montreal's upcoming game has stated that it won't be the biggest, or the longest, game in the series.

That developer is Malek Teffaha, localizer at Ubisoft Middle East. Replying to the point of criticism below that Assassin's Creed Odyssey could at times feel a little too big, Teffaha said that the upcoming Valhallah won't be the biggest or longest game in the series so far.

I'm actually slightly relieved to hear this. 2018's Assassin's Creed Odyssey was, by all accounts, absolutely monumental, and definitely felt a little bloated in its scope and scale at times. I'd know, I worked on guides for the bloody thing, a pretty colossal undertaking. That's not to say it was a bad game though, because I genuinely adored my time with Odyssey and the correct protagonist Kassandra.

We're right on the cusp of seeing gameplay for Assassin's Creed Valhalla for the first time later today. Microsoft will debut a showcase for Xbox Series X games, with Ubisoft Montreal's title slated to be one of the big names appearing at the presentation. Speaking of, Valhalla will support Microsoft's Smart Delivery program when it launches later this year, so anyone who purchases an Xbox One copy of the game will automatically receive a free Series X upgrade if they purchase the flashy next-gen console.
