Axe of the Blood God Episode 11: Canvassing the RPG Landscape #1

Gamesbeat's Jason Wilson drops by to talk with Kat about the best RPGs so far this year, his new approach to Dark Souls, why Persona Q is underrated, and more.

Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey. You can find the show notes for previous episodes here.

In this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God (download link here), Gamesbeat's Jason Wilson drops by discuss the best RPGs so far this year while also paying his respects to Pillars of Eternity, Dark Souls II, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, and more.

There's so much going on in the RPG space right now, particularly with Witcher 3 just around the corner, that we decided to go with a more free-flowing format for this episode. We touch on quite a few topics in this episode, including the "right" way to go about fetch quests, as well as why a lot of RPGs seem to have disappointing endings. Consider it food for thought.

When you're finished listening to the show, we'd love to hear your thoughts. If you want to talk about the best games so far this year, or just RPGs in general, drop a line in the comments below.
