Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey. You can find the show notes for previous episodes here.
In this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God (download link here), we celebrate all of the big RPG news from Nintendo, and we talk to XSEED's Jessica Chavez about the trials and tribulations of localizing The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC.
We've been banging the drum for the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VII to get localized for quite a long time now, so it's a relief to see it finally get confirmed here. Lots of other RPG news to discuss as well, including Pokémon's move to Virtual Console and Mother 3's appearance in Japan. In the second segment, Jessica Chavez talks about the challenges of localization, developing Trails in the Sky SC's story, and the origin of the pigeon achievement, and answers some of your burning questions about the game.
Giveaway update: If you haven't submitted an entry yet, we're still giving away a free copy of Fallout 4 for the Xbox One. How do you win this game, you ask? Send your best RPG screenshot to my Twitter feed (@the_katbot) or to firstname.lastname@example.org. It can be funny, meaningful, scenic, or a moment of triumph. If you have a good story to tell about the screen, so much the better. The best screens will get published here, with my favorite getting a copy of the game.
One more item of interest: we're now available on Stitcher! Please do me a favor and review us there so we can get more exposure. Also, if you enjoy the show, you can find Axe of the Blood God on iTunes by following this link. Please subscribe, rate, and review the show! The more we're rated, the more visible we'll become.
Dragon Quest VII and VIII for Nintendo 3DS have finally been confirmed for North America! Jeremy and Kat have lots of thoughts on that and Nintendo's other news. Then, XSEED's Jessica Chavez joins us to share her adventures in localized Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, her favorite characters, and the challenge of working with a Japanese story.
