Axe of the Blood God Reviews Detective Pikachu and Reacts of Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Return

AXE OF THE BLOOD GOD | Our valiant podcast crew reviews the new movie and reacts to the surprise trailer.

Axe of the Blood God isn't normally in the business of reviewing movies, but Detective Pikachu is kind of a special occasion. So Nadia and I are here to offer all of our thoughts on the new live-action adaptation of one of our favorite RPGs, as well as reactions to the new Final Fantasy 7 teaser [download link here].

We already shared some of our thoughts in the Detective Pikachu roundtable that followed our initial viewing, but Nadia and I delve even deeper into the Pokemon, the world, and that one Ditto. Does it all work? You'll have to listen and find out (the answer is yes... mostly).

In a pleasant surprise for RPG fans, Final Fantasy 7 Remake also popped up again last week. All the sudden it seems as if the much-anticipated (and oft-delayed) remake might actually happen. But is Square Enix selling out the original in dropping the turn-based combat? Kat has some thoughts.
