Axe of the Blood God: The Next-Gen Console Launch Extravaganza!

Axe of the Blood God: The Next-Gen Console Launch Extravaganza!

Our complete breakdown of this week's PS5 and Xbox Series X launch.

The PS4 and Xbox Series X are out this week, and Axe of the Blood God is here to celebrate with a two-hour podcast extravaganaza [download link here]!

In the wake of our reviews of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, we get together to talk about the next-gen consoles, their launch line-ups, and their long-term outlook for RPG fans.

Our main takeaway? It's actually kind of a rough decision given that Microsoft kind of has a monopoly on western RPGs these days, while JRPGs figure to mostly live on PS5. In the short-term, RPG fans might actually be better served spending their hard-earned money on a gaming PC. Or, you know, buying a Switch Pro whenever it's announced.

Also in this episode: We review Yakuza: Like a Dragon, talk about the Mass Effect remaster, and much more!
