Yusuke Hashimoto, director of Bayonetta 2 and Star Fox Zero, announced that January 31 was his last day at PlatinumGames. No word yet on how this affects the development of Bayonetta 3.
Hashimoto posted the news on their personal Twitter account writing, "This tweet will be a little more personal than usual... January 31st, was my last day at PlatinumGames." Hashimoto added that after 13 years at Platinum, "working with dozens of talented individuals on Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, and Star Fox Zero, are priceless to me."

Hashimoto was a producer on the first Bayonetta, which Hideki Kamiya directed. He then took over as director for Bayonetta 2 and later helmed Star Fox Zero. Bayonetta 3's production team was not announced when it was revealed at the 2017 Game Awards. But both Kamiya and Hashimoto gave separate interviews saying they have ideas for the third Bayonetta game.
It's unclear how this affects the development of Bayonetta 3, if at all. The last mention of Platinum's action game was during this week's February Nintendo Direct where it got a brief mention from Nintendo's Yoshiaki Koizumi. Platinum is still "hard at work" on Bayonetta 3. Meanwhile, Nintendo took the chance to announce a new Platinum action game for the Nintendo Switch called Astral Chain from Nier: Automata designer Takahisa Taura.
