Bet On The Virtual Ponies in GTA Online's Huge Casino Update Out Next Week

Just remember: the house always wins.

A luxurious new playground for gambling and crime is coming to the world of GTA Online. The Diamond Casino and Resort opens for business in Los Santos on Tuesday, July 23.

The casino portion will feature a number of games to gamble on, including three-card poker, blackjack, and roulette. You can take a crack at the slots, bet on virtual horse racing at the Inside Track, or spin for high-end prizes like new cars on the Lucky Wheel. There's a lot of ways to lose your hard-earned cash at the Diamond.

But if you'd rather hang out and enjoy the scenic view, you can buy a penthouse, which not only grants you access to the VIP lounge and high-limit tables, but a lavish living environment as well. You can deck your new penthouse out with arcade games, a home cinema, art, a bar, or a personal spa.

Buying a Master Penthouse also opens up Diamond family business missions, featuring Diamond owner Tao Cheng facing off against corrupt Texan petrochemical magnates. You'll get a brand new vehicle free of charge for beating the quest line, and you can do additional odd jobs for cash and chips in the process. Also, Twitch Prime members get a free Master Penthouse if you link your Rockstar Social Club account by end of day July 19, alongside some extra cash and a Shark Cash Card bonus.

The casino looks to add a massive influx of new content to Grand Theft Auto Online, though I'm really just interested in getting into the poker and blackjack. You have to wonder if some of the regional gambling regulations that kept Red Dead Online players from playing poker will rear their head again here in GTA Online. If so, hopefully players will still be able to access the non-gambling sections here, like owning a sick penthouse with a bunch of arcade cabinets and made-for-GTA movies.

That said, a penthouse can't be cheap. If you're looking to pull off some big heists or other missions to get some cash built up ahead of the casino's grand opening, be sure to check out our guide to Grand Theft Auto Online's heists.
