If you're still wondering where The Elder Scrolls 6 is, well you'll still be waiting for a while. This week, Bethesda's marketing VP Pete Hines confirmed what we heard before, that there are still two big games coming before work on the next Elder Scrolls even begins.
"But wait," you might be asking. Bethesda's been putting out a lot of games since Fallout 4, like two more Skyrims.
Those were largely done by other studios so that the team could focus on new projects.— Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) February 2, 2018
As Hines clarified, those games, including the recent Skyrim remasters and ports, were done by other studios. And of course games published by Bethesda don't count either as we're talking specifically about games from Bethesda Game Studios.
The last we've heard, Bethesda Game Studios is rumored to be working on an open-world space game called "Starfield," though that rumor hasn't been spoken about in quite some time. And even if that game comes out, there will be yet another game after that, that won't be an Elder Scrolls Game (Fallout 5, maybe?).
So either way you cut it, Elder Scrolls is still far, far off. There's always The Elder Scrolls Online though, or new mods from fans who are remastering The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion in the Skyrim engine.
