Bethesda is Re-Releasing the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition, But Your Phone Probably Won't Fit

A game of the year edition for Fallout 4 comes out two years later.

Bethesda Softworks will release a Game of the Year edition of Fallout 4 two whole years after the game first came out. The Game of the Year edition will include all the Fallout 4 add-ons and will come out on September 26. As an added bonus Bethesda will re-release the Pip-Boy Edition for a cheaper price on the same date. Just don't expect to fit your bigger smartphones.

Fallout 4 GOTY Pip-Boy Edition re-release

Basically, there will be two Game of the Year editions for Fallout 4 coming out. The standard edition will cost $59.99 and include all six Fallout 4 DLC including: Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop, and Nuka-World. It will also include all the patches made for the game, including a high-resolution texture pack made for the Windows PC version.

Next, Bethesda will re-release the coveted Pip-Boy Edition for $99.99. Originally a limited collector's edition for Fallout 4 back in 2015, the Pip-Boy Edition originally sold for $119.99. The Pip-Boy Edition includes a plastic replica of the famous Fallout Pip-Boy wrist computer from the game. The physical model lets users insert their smartphones into it to use with a Pip-Boy app. Basically, it's perfect for your next Fallout cosplay.

Bethesda said that at the time it could not produce anymore Pip-Boys than the ones it already produced for the game. Given the demand for the Pip-Boy Edition, that's understandable. Now that it's been a couple years, Bethesda's bringing back the super popular collectible, although there is a slight problem.

According to Polygon, the Pip-Boy wrist mold is identical to the original one, meaning it's sized for smartphones from 2015 like the iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy S6. Unfortunately, we currently have much bigger phones like the iPhone 7, Galaxy S8, and even the Google Pixel XL. Those phones probably won't fit the Pip-Boy, which is a huge bummer.

The new Pip-Boy edition also won't come with the capsule casing as the original Fallout 4 Collector's Edition, and will be sold at select retailers across North America.
