Bethesda Probably Doesn't Have an Unannounced Game Coming Out This Year

A mistake or slip of the tongue? We find out!

In the rapid news cycle of video games, it's hard to keep track of all the new announcements and rumors. Take for example when Bethesda's VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines talked about an unannounced title from Bethesda that was apparently planned for later this year, or not. He walked back his claims on Twitter later that day. So what's going on?

In a recent interview with Tek Syndicate, Pete Hines ran down the list of upcoming Bethesda games for the remainder of the year, which are a lot. Skyrim Switch, Wolfenstein 2, Evil Within 2, Dishonored Death of the Outsider, and other previously announced titles were mentioned.

However, Hines went on to say, "We even have a game coming out this year that we haven't even told anyone about yet. They can wait, it won't be so long."

That's a pretty bold thing to say and when pressed on the subject Hines refused to divulge any new details. "I'm not telling you. It's a good try, I'm just not telling you."

However, later Hines tweeted that the news was a mistake.

We reached out to Bethesda for clarification and will update the story accordingly.
