Tonight at Bethesda's E3 2019 press conference, it's been announced that Fallout 76 is finally getting what everyone has wanted since day one. The huge update, called Wastelanders, was announced back in February, but tonight we learned what was in it. And that's right: it has human NPCs.
It's the biggest update yet for the online game, and "fundamentally changes the game," according to Bethesda. And in the trailer, that quickly becomes evident. We meet human NPCs, and in starting a conversation, see a familiar dialogue tree. Wastelanders will introduce new quests, weapons, and a lot more. While year one of Fallout 76 was about exiting the vault, year two will be about how the world is repopulating with people.
The eagerly anticipated update is coming this fall to Fallout 76, and it will be free for all owners of the game. To get players up to speed, Bethesda is offering a free trial week of Fallout 76 starting tomorrow June 10, and lasting until June 17. It was also announced today that a new battle royale mode is headed to Fallout 76. But fans don't have to wait for that one: it's out this summer.
