Blizzard made its Nintendo Switch debut with the release of Diablo 3, but it doesn't sound like it'll stop there. Blizzard's president J. Allen Brack believes it's not ridiculous to imagine even more Nintendo collaborations with Blizzard in the future.
In an interview with GamesBeat, Brack said that Blizzard is "super-happy," with Diablo 3 on Switch. "We're a fan of that platform, a fan of Nintendo, a fan of the Nintendo IP, a fan of the Switch. It's a really good platform and it's really fun to play on."
When asked if it'd be ridiculous to assume more Nintendo collaborations in the future, to which Brack responded, "It's not ridiculous." Brack says that the Switch "has some unique properties that the Xbox and Sony platforms don't have. Thinking about what games make sense for that type of console is something we'll never stop doing."
Diablo 3 on the Switch wasn't just a straight port. The advertising campaign for Diablo 3 Switch included a fun sketch featuring former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, and there was even a Ganon skin exclusive to the console.
It's hard to imagine which of Blizzard's current games could also come to the Switch. But Blizzard is also developing several unannounced titles, and any one of those could potentially be making their way to the Switch once they're officially announced.
Blizzard said that there will not be any major video game releases set for 2019, so whatever Blizzard might have planned for the Switch we will not see it this year.
