Blizzard is Hosting Another Free Weekend for Overwatch [Update]

Play the game for free, then get it for cheap on Black Friday.

Update: The free weekend is now live.

It's time for another Overwatch free weekend.

Blizzard announced that its hit shooter, Overwatch, will be available to download and play for free on PS4, Xbox One, and PC consoles. The free weekend begins on November 17 at 11 AM PT and lasts until November 20 at 11:59 PM PT. You will need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Gold membership to play online however.

The free weekend gives you access to all 26 playable characters and 16 maps, along with access to Arcade, Quick Play, and Custom Games. Competitive Games however will be locked for anyone playing the game for free.

In addition, Loot Boxes will also be available, and any progress made in terms of level or loot rewards will carry over if you buy the complete game after the weekend.

Overwatch figures heavily into a lot of retailers' Black Friday Deals, so if you want to know where to pick up a copy of Overwatch for $29.99, check out our Black Friday Deals Guide.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. See our terms & conditions.
