Blizzard Teases Overwatch "Retribution" Alongside the Return of Uprising

Live, die, repeat Tracer's first mission.

Overwatch is bringing back the Uprising brawl for 2018. Uprising is a special, limited event where players can replay Tracer's first mission as part of the Overwatch team during the height of the Omnic war, but in a new Developer Update director Jeff Kaplan teases there might be more content this year.

Overwatch's Jeff Kaplan says that the event is being renamed "Overwatch Archives" and that "Uprising" is just one many "cool, past moment" in the Overwatch "Archives" that players can relive. Kaplan specifically teases something called "Retribution" for Overwatch Archives this year.

Retribution has been teased earlier via Twitter, but in the Developer Update Kaplan says that more Overwatch Archives content and more "parts of the event" alongside Uprising will be detailed later.

The old Overwatch Uprising loot box content will re-enter circulation alongside new Overwatch Archives content. Kaplan teased a new skin for your "favorite" Shimada brother, meaning either Hanzo or Genji will be up for a cool new skin with the event.

Kaplan will reveal more about the Overwatch Archives Uprising and "Retribution" all throughout the week with a special preview happening on Wednesday during the Overwatch League match that day.

Overwatch Uprising debuted last year and let players engage in a special PvE mode where players assumed the role of either Tracer, Torbjorn, Reinhardt, or Mercy during Tracer's first mission on King's Row. There was also an All Heroes Mode that let players play the PvE mode but with any character in the Overwatch roster.
