Blizzard's New Mobile Game Could Be Based on WarCraft

Another WarCraft spin-off on mobile?

According to a Blizzard job listing, the Irvine-based company is looking for a new FX Artist for an unannounced mobile game that will have something to do with the "WarCraft IP".

Thanks to a job listing spotted by users on NeoGAF, Blizzard is looking for a someone who can develop real-time effects which are implemented at every level of this mobile game. Most interestingly, the ad calls for applicants with a "Passion for creating imagery synonymous with the WarCraft IP."

Hearthstone Guide, Deck Building Strategies, Fast Gold, Free Cards

A new Blizzard mobile title has been rumored for several months, but this is the first time the WarCraft name was associated with the mobile project. Previously, rumors suggested that the mobile game would be related to other Blizzard IPs like Overwatch or StarCraft. However, Blizzard already found success with a mobile WarCraft spinoff with Hearthstone, so it's not as if there isn't precedent for a new WarCraft mobile title.

Hearthstone recently surpassed 70 million players earlier this month, and while it's unlikely the new mobile IP will be a kind of retread, it will be interesting to see how else Blizzard can branch of their WarCraft franchise for different audiences.

If Blizzard announces the game, it could most likely be at Blizzcon in Anaheim, California this November, though that depends on how far along development is on the title.
