Bloodborne is, depending on who you ask, one of the best games ever made. FromSoftware's modern classic turns five years old this month, and to celebrate, the community is banding together to put on their own anniversary event.
This anniversary event is known as “Return to Yharnam,” the gothic city in which Bloodborne takes place. The event looks to bring back all Bloodborne players to the game, effectively breathing new life into FromSoftware's game by ramping up the player base.
Additionally, Bloodborne's anniversary event seeks to welcome new players with open arms. As the post above states, the general aim of the event is for everyone to start out a brand new character, and then summon as many people into your game as possible, thus amping up the feeling of collaboration between the community.
The Return to Yharnam event for Bloodborne kicks off today, on March 10. It'll be running for two weekly only, rounding out on March 24, but there's always the chance returning players and newcomers alike could stick around after the event dies down, especially if they don't manage to complete the game.
I love the Return to Yharnam event. I love that it's entirely a community-driven event, to show appreciation to a beloved game. If you've played Bloodborne in the past, or if you've never tried it out, I'd highly recommend picking it up over the course of the next two weeks. After all, Bloodborne placed number 12 on our games of the decade list.
