Some more concrete details are emerging about Bandai Namco Online's new online action role-playing game, Blue Protocol. Showing the character creator, more of the world, and some gameplay, it's looking like this is Destiny-meets-Tales Of in a way that's very intriguing.
The currently PC-only game doesn't have a release date yet, though it will go into closed alpha later this month in Japan. The game's Twitter account posted a video showing off the character creator, where you can change your avatar's height, weight, and features. Also, there's a chest slider, I guess.

Also, a new trailer shows us a first glimpse at combat, as well as some of the various weapons and abilities you can wield in Blue Protocol. It seems like the game will take heavy emphasis on teamwork and coordination, as you can see other players in the various clips fighting alongside each other to take down massive monsters.
Maybe it's just the scale of the foes they're facing, but I got some Monster Hunter vibes from this. It seems like there's a hub, a board with postings, and large, singular foes to face. If this is ultimately Bandai Namco's answer to Monster Hunter, styled in a similar aesthetic to the upcoming Tales of Arise, then I'm definitely interested. We'll learn more, like whether it ever comes stateside, as we get closer to a release announcement.
