It's known that Bluepoint Games is working on something, but the particulars of what aren't exactly clear. The studio's been dropping hints for some time now, and today, Bluepoint made an extra effort to poke the nest.
In a post on the Texas studio's Twitter, Bluepoint Games simply says, "Stay hungry #ResetEra," making reference to the gaming forum that will often speculate about what Bluepoint Games might be up to. Hidden in the dark background, there's also a cartoon and a "fast loading" message next to a flower or cabbage of some kind.
Bluepoint Games was behind the Shadow of the Colossus remake, as well as other remaster projects like the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for PlayStation 3. The studio has already announced it's working on a PlayStation 5 project, making it a likely candidate for being on the PS5 launch lineup.
What exactly that might be is, really, anybody's guess. Replies on Twitter seem to skew towards either Demon's Souls or The Legend of Dragoon. It's confirmed to Eurogamer that Bluepoint's next game is a remake, but the door is open, especially if you look at Sony's history of exclusives and the potential within.
We compiled our own list back in 2018 of candidates for Bluepoint Games' next project, though I wasn't on board at the time, so I'll just back the Legend of Dragoon camp. Is it a seemingly impossible cause? Absolutely. But The Legend of Dragoon doesn't care about reasons or likelihoods. It cares only for the power of the dragoon.
