Treyarch announced that it's extending the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout battle royale beta for another hour, this time with a max player count of 100, the highest it's been in the beta.
Treyarch is currently testing its upcoming battle royale mode, Blackout, in beta across PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The beta was set to end earlier today, but the studio announced that it will be extending the beta until 12 pm PT/3pm ET.
What's more, the beta will finally raise the max player count to 100. So far the limit was set at 80 players, and raised to 88 on PS4. 100 is typically the max player count for battle royale's last-person standing mode, but because Blackout is in beta Treyarch was testing different configurations for its own player count.
Blackout is the first attempt made by a Call of Duty game at the battle royale genre. So far Blackout feels like the most polished, triple-A attempt at PUBG's battle royale formula, but still retails hallmarks of Call of Duty's gameplay. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 comes out on October 12 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
