Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Zero Specialist Has Been Nerfed

Hack the planet.

If you’ve been playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 recently, then chances are you’ve run into Zero, the Specialist that was added to the game earlier this month. Well, your frustration is now at an end, as Treyarch has nerfed the new character.

Since PlayStation has an exclusivity deal with Activision, Zero launched earlier in December on the PS4 in her overpowered state. The Specialist launched just yesterday for the Xbox One and PC version of Black Ops 4, but in her nerfed state.

Zero has now been nerfed on all platforms, and for good reason. The unique Black Ops 4 Specialist had a hacking tool called the Ice Pick, and she could use this to hack enemy player Scorestreaks. Just earned yourself a Mantis or a Spider’s Nest helicopter? Zero can take control of it and use it against you, and there was nothing you could do to prevent the hack.

"We’ve implemented our first balancing pass on Zero, our new Specialist," wrote Treyarch in a post on the Black Ops 4 subreddit today, on December 19. The changes include "an increase in the time it takes to earn her Ice Pick, varying increases to the time it takes her to hack Scorestreaks and Torque’s Barricade, preventing her hacks from freezing enemy healing cooldowns, and more."

This patch to fix Zero is available right now on all platforms for Black Ops 4. All you have to do is download patch 1.10 for your game, and the Specialist has been fixed.

If you need a helping hand with mastering any of the other characters in Black Ops 4's multiplayer modes, you can head over to our Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Specialists guide.
