Call of Duty Modern Warfare: How to Access Spec Ops Missions
Spec Ops missions are co-op, wave-based affairs. Here’s how to play them.
Modern Warfare features a Special Ops mode this year. Where players can team up and take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies. It’s fairly hidden away in the game’s manus however, and there’s been a lot of confusion regarding how to access the second Spec Ops mission. We’ve detailed everything you need to know below.
How to Access Spec Ops Missions
The Special Ops section of Modern Warfare can be a little hard to find. You’ll need to head into the Co-Op section of the main menu, where you’ll be able to select a Spec Ops mission to play through. You can play this solo or in a group, just create a room and then start the match.
Where Are the Other Spec Ops Missions?
You’ll notice that there is only one Classic Special Ops mission available in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. This is currently because Infinity Ward plans to add a new one in November of 2019. We don’t have any specific release dates for you yet, but w’ll update this page if we hear more.

How to Unlock the Second Spec Ops Mission
Currently, you cannot unlock the second Spec Ops mission in Modern Warfare. Once it is released though, you’ll be able to unlock it by completing the first Spec Ops mission. Once you do, you’ll see the second mission in the rewards section at the end of the match.
So there you have it, that’s how to select Spec Ops missions in Modern Warfare. For more on the game, be sure to check out our best weapons page, and our look at the voice actors behind the characters involved.
