A brand new patch hit Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone yesterday on all platforms. Aside from bumping up the player count of Warzone to 200, and increasing the file size of the game yet again, there's some big changes in store for the game's most powerful weapon: the Grau.
Infinity Ward's director of multiplayer Joe Cecot previously promised to take a look at the Grau in future weapon adjustments, and that promise has today been fulfilled. The changes to the Grau have increased its damage range reduction, so there's no more accurately gunning down players from afar, as well as increasing the recoil of the weapon at higher frequencies. Head over to the Modern Warfare subreddit, and you can already find tons of people mourning the Grau.
The full patch notes can be found over on Infinity Ward's website, where the recoil compensation and range have also been decreased for the Grau's Tempus 26.4 Archangel and FSS 20.8 Nexus weapon mods. There are some pretty significant updates for a weapon that gained notoriety for being able to pick off players from afar with relatively little recoil or damage falloff.
The MP5 was another popular weapon to be hit with various nerfs today. When using 10MM ammo for the submachine-gun, you'll be dealing with decreased damage range, reduced long range damage, and a slight increase to recoil. The changes to the MP5 rival the Grau's nerfs, but this SMG wasn't quite as popular and dominating as the Grau has been in recent weeks.
Yesterday, we reported on this latest patch for Call of Duty: Warzone increasing the player count from 150 to 200. This is only a limited time addition though, beginning for the Quads mode in Warzone. It's the second patch by Infinity Ward to actually reduce the file size of the overall game, but this is only after you've downloaded yet another patch that comes in well over 20GB.
