Props, the most dangerous game.

Call of Duty: WWII's Resistance kickoff is in full swing, and one of the fun events Sledgehammer Games is holding to celebrate is the popular Prop Hunt mode in multiplayer. The mode has already delivered a wealth of online hilarity as showcased by gifs and gameplay videos currently circulating social media.

Prop Hunt basically work like this: Two teams enter the match. One team consists of armed human hunters, while the other team gets to disguise themselves as environmental objects littered around the map. The goal is to either root out all the hidden prop players, or outlast the hunters by going the whole match undetected.

Sledgehammer Games actually gives a pretty good, Resistance-themed explanation for the inclusion of Prop Hunt in WWII:

As an underground Resistance fighter, you must master the skill of stealth. In a fun spin, just for this event, you can put your skills to the test in the Prop Hunt game mode, where players on one team must disguise themselves as everyday items strewn throughout the war zone, while the other team is tasked with tracking them down and destroying them. As a fun party mode, we hope you'll enjoy taking a break from the core modes and try Prop Hunt during this limited-time event playlist.

It's a mode perfectly designed for hijinks, having started as a mod for popular games like Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

On Twitter, players have already demonstrated their Prop hiding prowess.

Honestly Prop Hunt is the mode that keeps on giving. Especially as some expert hiders have just decided to start messing around with the hunters.

Though there are some that would rather take a simple "run away" approach to hiding.

Prop Hunt is currently available as part of the free content for The Resistance DLC. Other free bonuses available as part of WWII's Resistance content festivities include new weapons, maps, and multiplayer divisions. The Resistence event runs until February 27.
