Can You Still Find Peyote Plants and Turn into Animals in GTA Online?
We break down the peyote situation in Los Santos and Vinewood.
Recently Rockstar Games added in 76 different peyote plants across the world of GTA Online, which bestow on players the ability to respawn as a wild animal - or something a lot more interesting.

Are Peyote Plants Still in GTA Online?
Currently no, though there's a good chance that they might return in the future. The plants were introduced on October 31, 2019 as part of the Halloween Surprise event, and lasted for two weeks until November 14. However, their association with Halloween and the high interest in this event means that there's a good chance that Rockstar may bring them back at the same time next year. There are also 27 peyote plants to be found in the single player, with similar effects.
What Do Peyote Plants Do?
In GTA Online, plants cause players' controllers to vibrate when they are close to them. By homing in on their location, the player can just to consume them, whereupon their character passes out and respawns as an animal, though what species depends on their location. This lasts until the player chooses to end the "hallucination" or if they die, whereupon they wake up in the nearest hospital having been awarded 5000 RP.
What Animals Can You Turn Into?
There are 28 possible transformations as a result of consuming peyote, though two of them are notably different: Chop, the rottweiler owned by Lamar in the singleplayer GTA V campaign (done by finding the peyote plant in the Clinton residence backyard), and Bigfoot, who bestows increased strength and health on the player (found by eating the peyote plant at the base of Mount Chiliad when it's foggy weather, and between three and eight in the morning). The other transformations are random, though eating a plant close to the ocean will likely turn the player into a sea creature.
