Looks Like Captain Price Is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Next Operator

The veteran character joins the ongoing fight.

Things could be about to get a whole lot more hectic in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A new trailer and general info dump ahead of Season 4 launching next week appears to point to Captain Price joining the fight as the next Operator.

Operators, if you're unfamiliar with the term, is what Modern Warfare calls its multiplayer characters. Each new season introduces a new Battle Pass that contains a new Operator for you to play as, and it looks like classic Modern Warfare character Captain Price will be the next successive Operator, going by the trailer below.

The trailer above is actually a massive look back on the evolving story of Modern Warfare so far. For the uninitiated, the story that began in Modern Warfare continued into the Spec Ops mode, which then continued into the Warzone battle royale mode. This story is still unfolding, and if you've missed any part of it so far, the trailer is a handy look back on the action so far. Alternatively, you can head over to Activision's blog for a text recap of the whole story.

If you're eager for the new season, then there's good news, because Season 4 launches next week on June 3. Campaign protagonist Alex joined Modern Warfare multiplayer as an Operator in Season 3, and it looks like it's Price's turn to join in on the action next week in Season 4.

Price won't be the only addition for the new season, though. New seasons typically introduce new weapons, and Season 4 is no exception, with the Vector and Galil popping up very briefly right near the very end of the trailer above.

We recently spoke to Call of Duty: Warzone's directors on how they plan on keeping the game fresh in the long run. There's a lot to unpack here, as the directors reveal just how difficult it can be to keep a game like Call of Duty evolving.
