Last night, Castlevania fans got a pleasant surprise. One of the most well-regarded entries in the series, Symphony of the Night, is now available on iOS and Android phones, and for a pretty fair price too.
The mobile version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night costs a measly $2.99, which is a bit of a steal. As far as players have been able to tell, this is the full version of Symphony of the Night, start to finish—no "Part 1" shenanigans or anything.
In the feature list on the Android and iOS stores, there is controller support and unlockable achievements for "hard-fought battle milestones." There's also a new "continue" feature, but this version also seems to use the same localization as the PlayStation 4 port of Symphony of the Night. So sorry, no more "miserable little pile of secrets."
Of course, the big bummer is that this isn't on the Nintendo Switch. But if you have one of those controller grips for your phone, maybe this is close enough for now. (You'll probably want to go the controller route too, seeing as touch screen controls probably aren't ideal for storming Dracula's castle.) For everyone else, at least there's the Symphony of the Night successor Bloostained: Ritual of the Night to hold us over.
