Catch Ho-Oh in Pokemon GO for a Limited Time
Niantic surprises players with a legendary Pokemon.
Pokémon Go trainers finally have a shot at capturing the Johto region's other legendary Pokémon, Ho-Oh. But players only have a limited time to catch it before it disappears again on December 12.
A tweet from the official Pokémon Go account announced, "Thanks to all your hard work last week, Ho-Oh will appear in Raid Battles until 12/12!" The legendary Pokémon is being offered as an extra prize as part of last week's Global Catch Challenge, which asked trainers to catch as many Pokémon as they can to unlock a series of tiered prizes.

For their efforts last week, players were rewarded with the chance to catch Farfetch'd, a Pokémon previously exclusive to Japan. Meanwhile, players in Japan were rewarded with the Australia-exclusive Kangaskhan.
These prize Pokémon were only available for 48 hours, but Ho-Oh will be offered for a couple weeks. This gives players a good amount of time to capture one of the franchise's iconic legendary Pokémon. So start beefing up for Raid Battles for a chance at capturing Ho-Oh before the December 12 deadline.
