CD Projekt Red: Cyberpunk 2077 Will "Look as Good" on PS4 as on PC

I'll believe it when I see it.

One of the things the press noted about the E3 Cyberpunk 2077 private demo was how good it looked. So good in fact, that it's hard to believe this game will be a current-gen title. According to CD Projekt Red however, not only will Cyberpunk 2077 be on the PS4, but it will look just as good there as it did on a PC running the E3 demo.

At E3 this year, CD Projekt Red unveiled Cyberpunk 2077 with a reveal trailer during the Xbox press conference. The developers also held 50-minute private demos for select press for a deeper look into the game. While you can read our impressions of the Cyberpunk 2077 demo here, one of the things noted by press across outlets was how good the game looks visually. Talks that Cyberpunk will be a cross-generation title (meaning it will launch on current-gen and next-gen consoles) started up almost immediately. There's no way Cyberpunk 2077 will look like how it does on a PS4 and Xbox One.

Well, while talking with Metro UK, CD Projekt Red level designer Max Pears assured the publication that the game will look as good on a PS4 as it did on the £2,000+ PC running the demo build. "It's still going to look as good as that," said Pears referring to the PC version of Cyberpunk.

Cyberpunk 2077

The interviewer at Metro followed-up by saying that nothing on the PS4 currently looks as good as the Cyberpunk demo to which Pears responded, "This is the thing now, we've got a great team. So we're gonna be trying our hardest to push the envelope. We've got the right people and the right minds to get this there for it."

Cyberpunk 2077 is CD Projekt Red's newest RPG following The Witcher series. The game is based on the tabletop series Cyberpunk 2022 by Mike Pondsmith, and the tabletop RPG is considered a hallmark of Cyberpunk fiction.
